Welcome to the Art House Toronto Studio.

We are an atelier-style painting and drawing studio right in the heart of Toronto, fully equipped with proper easels, lighting and ventilation.

 

What does “Atelier” mean?

 

“An atelier (French: [atəlje], "workshop" or "studio") is, in English, the private workshop or studio of a professional artist in the fine or decorative arts, where a principal master and a number of assistants, students, and apprentices can work together producing pieces of fine art or visual art released under the master's name or supervision.” – Wikipedia

 

Whatever project you decide to work on in the space, you will always have a professional on hand to help guide you with your vision.  Art House Toronto is a safe space to paint whether you are experienced and only lack the facilities of your own, or have never even picked up a pencil before.  It is about community, support, and practical development.

 

How it works: Membership vs. Drop In

 

Memberships are the best way to utilize the studio. Membership allows you unlimited access to the space for however long you need it, and you get discounts on our workshops and life drawing classes.  The Art House Gallery exists exclusively to show and sell studio members' work in a high-traffic front-of-house environment. Become a Member!

Drop-Ins are a good way to experience the studio commitment-free. When you pay 'by the day' you may access the studio until closing time, and can take advantage of any special events on that day.  For Sunday painters and the artistic dabblers there will be a still-life set up every Sunday.  Drop-Ins are a great way to feel out if the studio is a good fit for you before plunging in.

 

Life Model Drawing

Every Monday evening there will be a model on hand for life drawing sessions. No membership is required, but all artists are asked to pay small model fee.

 

Workshops
